Name: Ross Tech HEX USB Driver
Author: Ross-Tech

Question 1

Install fails or setup is blocked?

Accepted Answer

Run the VCDS installer as administrator, temporarily allow it through antivirus, and reboot. Do not install generic USB-serial/FTDI drivers; use only the Ross-Tech package so the HEX USB is registered correctly.

Question 2

Device not detected / “USB device not recognized”?

Accepted Answer

Connect the HEX USB directly to a powered USB port, try another cable/port, and avoid unpowered hubs. Check Device Manager for the Ross-Tech USB interface, then run VCDS > Options > Test.

Question 3

Version conflicts after an update?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old VCDS and Ross-Tech USB drivers, reboot, then install the current Ross-Tech VCDS release. Do not manually update the driver; rerun Options > Test to confirm the interface is found.
