Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Download the MPX-80 driver package for your exact Windows version, run it as administrator, and leave the USB cable disconnected until setup prompts. Avoid forcing an unrelated Roland driver if Windows blocks installation.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the MPX-80 directly to a USB 2.0 port—no hub or extension cable—and try a known-good USB cable. Power the impact printer on, then check Device Manager for an unknown device and reinstall the MPX-80 driver.

Question 3

Driver/software conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous Roland MPX-80 drivers and MPX software, reboot, then install the current package. Do not mix drivers from other Roland impact-printer models; confirm the correct USB port is assigned.
