Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the Fantom G from USB before running the Roland driver installer. Run setup as administrator, reboot when prompted, then reconnect the keyboard directly to a rear USB port.

Question 2

Fantom G not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the Fantom G’s USB mode is set to MIDI, use a known-good USB cable, and avoid hubs. In Windows Device Manager, check for unknown/USB MIDI devices; reinstall the Fantom G driver if needed.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any older Roland Fantom G or generic USB MIDI driver first, reboot, and install the matching 32/64-bit Windows driver. Temporarily disable antivirus if the installer is blocked, then re-enable it.
