Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the FP-5, run the Roland installer as Administrator, reboot, then reconnect the powered-on piano so Windows can finish setup.

Question 2

FP-5 not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB port and a known-good cable, power the piano on before opening your MIDI app, and check Device Manager for an unknown/Roland MIDI device; avoid USB hubs.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Roland USB-MIDI drivers and remove hidden MIDI devices in Device Manager, reboot, then install only the FP-5-compatible driver; don’t mix it with another Roland driver version.
