Question 1

Install fails on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

The DXY-980 uses a legacy, often unsigned driver. Install in compatibility mode for an older Windows version, or temporarily disable driver signature enforcement; confirm the driver matches your Windows architecture.

Question 2

Plotter not detected?

Accepted Answer

Verify the RS-232C/GPIB connection, select the correct COM port or GPIB address, match baud rate/parity/stop bits and handshake to the DXY-980 DIP-switch settings, and put the plotter online.

Question 3

Version/port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Roland plotter drivers and stale COM-port assignments before reinstalling; do not install multiple DXY-980 driver versions side by side.
