Name: RME Fireface UCX Driver
Author: RME

Question 1

Driver install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the RME installer as administrator, close TotalMix FX and Fireface USB Settings, and disconnect the UCX until setup asks for it. If upgrading, remove the old RME driver in Device Manager first, then reboot.

Question 2

UCX not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect directly to a USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Try another cable/port, confirm the UCX is powered and its LED is on, then check whether Fireface USB Settings sees it.

Question 3

Driver/TotalMix version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Install the RME USB driver and TotalMix FX from the same current download. Uninstall older RME USB/FireWire drivers and TotalMix, reboot, then reinstall; avoid mixing packages from different versions.
