Question 1

Installer fails or closes early?

Accepted Answer

RT73 packages are old and may need Administrator rights and Windows compatibility mode. If setup still fails, update the driver manually in Device Manager by selecting the extracted `.inf` file.

Question 2

Adapter not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a direct USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for “Unknown device” or “Ralink” entries; uninstall any marked error, reconnect the adapter, and rescan for hardware.

Question 3

Version conflicts or unstable Wi-Fi?

Accepted Answer

Remove older Ralink/MediaTek drivers and utilities first, reboot, then install the correct 32-bit or 64-bit RT73 package. If a newer driver breaks connectivity, roll back in Device Manager.
