Name: Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b g n WiFi Adapter Driver
Author: Atheros

Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any existing Atheros/Qualcomm WLAN driver in Device Manager, reboot, then install the AR9485 package as administrator. Match Windows version and 32/64-bit architecture; older packages may need Compatibility Mode.

Question 2

Adapter not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager under Network adapters and Other devices. If shown with a warning, update from the exact hardware ID. Reseat the mini-PCIe card if internal, confirm it is enabled in BIOS, and disable Fast Startup before rebooting.

Question 3

Version conflicts or unstable Wi-Fi?

Accepted Answer

Remove duplicate Atheros drivers via Programs and Features, then use Device Manager > Roll Back Driver or clean-install one confirmed AR9485 version. Avoid letting Windows Update replace a working OEM driver automatically.
