Question 1

Install fails or driver is not listed?

Accepted Answer

The AR938x INF must match your Windows version and hardware ID (e.g. `VEN_168C`/`DEV_0030`). Extract the package, then use Device Manager > Update driver > Browse > Let me pick > Have Disk and point to the INF. Run setup as administrator.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCIe card and check antennas, enable PCIe/wireless in BIOS, and confirm the card appears under Device Manager with Show hidden devices. If it shows as an unknown device, install chipset/PCIe drivers first.

Question 3

Version conflicts or old driver returns?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall the existing Atheros/Qualcomm driver and associated software, reboot, then install the correct package. If Windows Update overwrites it, roll back the driver or adjust driver-update policy; avoid mixing OEM and generic AR938x packages.
