Name: QMS Magicolor 2400 Driver
Author: QMS

Question 1

Install fails on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

The Magicolor 2400 uses legacy QMS drivers. Run the installer as administrator and try Windows XP/Vista compatibility mode; if blocked by driver signing, use the latest signed package available or install via Add Printer > Have Disk.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the printer is powered on and connected directly via USB/parallel (avoid hubs/adapters). Check Device Manager for unknown devices, then use Add Printer and select the correct port instead of relying on auto-detection.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove existing Magicolor 2400 entries in Devices and Printers and Print Management, uninstall old QMS driver packages, restart, then install one driver version only. Avoid mixing PCL and PostScript drivers for the same queue.
