Name: Primax Colorado USB 19200 Driver
Author: Primax

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

The Colorado USB 19200 uses a legacy unsigned driver. Run setup as Administrator in Windows XP compatibility mode, and temporarily disable driver signature enforcement on Windows 10/11. If setup still fails, disconnect the scanner until prompted.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a rear USB 2.0 port directly on the PC, not a hub. Check Device Manager for an unknown USB device; reseat the power/USB cables, power-cycle the scanner, and reinstall the driver.

Question 3

Driver/TWAIN version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove older Primax scanner software and duplicate TWAIN/WIA entries first. Reboot, then install only the 32-bit or 64-bit package matching Windows; avoid mixing drivers from other Colorado models.
