Author: PreSonus

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Close your DAW and any audio apps, run the Presonus AudioBox USB 2.8.40 installer as administrator, and temporarily disable antivirus if it blocks the driver. Reboot after installation.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB 2.0 port instead of a hub, try a different cable, and check Device Manager for unknown devices. Disconnect/reconnect the AudioBox after the driver installs.

Question 3

Version conflicts or old driver still active?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous AudioBox/Universal Control drivers in Apps & Features, reboot, then install 2.8.40. In your DAW, reselect the AudioBox as the audio device and confirm the sample rate matches.
