Name: PreSonus FireBOX Driver
Author: PreSonus

Question 1

Driver install fails on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

The FireBOX uses legacy FireWire drivers, so installers may fail or be blocked. Run the installer as Administrator, use Compatibility Mode for the supported Windows version, and temporarily disable driver signature enforcement if needed.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the FireWire cable and power supply, then confirm Device Manager sees the FireBOX. Use a Texas Instruments–based FireWire card/port where possible; incompatible FireWire chipsets are a common cause of detection failures.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove older PreSonus/FireWire audio drivers and Universal Control entries before installing the FireBOX driver. Reboot, then install the version that matches your Windows build; avoid mixing multiple PreSonus driver packages.
