Author: Polycom

Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Unplug the CX5100, uninstall any older Polycom CX5100 driver/software, reboot, then run the installer as administrator with the device disconnected. Reconnect only when prompted.

Question 2

Device not detected (no camera/audio)?

Accepted Answer

Connect the CX5100 directly to a rear USB port—avoid hubs and extension cables. Check Device Manager for unknown/imaging/audio devices, power-cycle the CX5100, and try a known-good USB cable.

Question 3

Version conflicts after updates?

Accepted Answer

Remove duplicate CX5100 entries in Device Manager, install the latest Polycom driver/firmware package, and keep Polycom Companion/RealPresence software matched to the device firmware. Set the CX5100 as the default communications microphone/speaker if audio routes incorrectly.
