Question 1

Install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the OpticBook 3800, run the Plustek installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and reboot before reconnecting USB. Use the correct 32/64-bit package.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for unknown devices, try another cable, power-cycle the scanner, and install the driver before opening scanning software.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Plustek/TWAIN drivers and scanner apps, reboot, then install the latest OpticBook 3800 driver. In your scanning app, select the Plustek TWAIN source and avoid mixing Windows Scan with Plustek software.
