Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the DocuPen before running the driver installer. Run the installer as administrator, confirm it matches your Windows version and 32/64-bit architecture, and temporarily allow it through antivirus if blocked.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB port and cable, avoid unpowered hubs, and check Device Manager for unknown/USB devices. Reconnect the scanner, then update or reinstall the Planon DocuPen driver manually.

Question 3

Version conflicts after upgrading Windows?

Accepted Answer

Remove older Planon/DocuPen entries in Programs and Features and Device Manager, restart, then install the current driver. Do not keep multiple DocuPen driver versions installed.
