Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Pinnacle setup as administrator and use Windows compatibility mode for older packages. Match the driver package to your OS bitness; only disable driver signature enforcement if you must use a legacy unsigned driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Plug the PCTV 71e directly into a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for an unknown device, uninstall it, then rescan and reinstall the driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Pinnacle TVCenter/Media Center drivers and previous driver versions via Device Manager, reboot, then install only one matching driver package.
