Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

The SAA7134 is a legacy PCI tuner; installers may fail on 64-bit or newer Windows. Run setup as administrator, match the driver to your OS architecture, and use Device Manager > Update driver for unsigned legacy packages. Temporarily disable driver signature enforcement only if you trust the source.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCI card, try another slot, and check BIOS for disabled PCI slots. In Device Manager, look for unknown multimedia devices; install the SAA7134 BDA/AVStream driver so TV applications can see the tuner.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Philips SAA713x/SAA7134 drivers and hidden devices first, reboot, then install one driver package. Avoid mixing Windows Update drivers with vendor drivers; if tuning fails after an update, roll back to the previously working version.
