Name: Philips 170b LCD Monitor Driver
Author: Philips

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

The Philips 170B package is legacy; run setup as administrator in Windows compatibility mode. If Windows blocks the unsigned monitor INF, install manually via Device Manager > Update driver > Browse and select the extracted folder.

Question 2

Monitor not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the 170B is powered on and set to the correct VGA/DVI input, reseat the cable, try another port or adapter, then use Device Manager > Action > Scan for hardware changes. A Generic PnP Monitor entry should appear first.

Question 3

Version conflicts or Windows overwrites the driver?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall the Philips monitor entry and select “Delete driver software,” reboot, then reinstall the 170B INF/ICM. If Windows Update reinstalls a generic driver, roll back or set the Philips driver manually in Device Manager.
