Name: Philips 170X4 (17inch LCD MONITOR 170X4) Driver
Author: Philips

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Verify the Philips 170X4 driver matches your Windows version and architecture. Extract the package fully and run setup as administrator. If setup still fails, use Device Manager > Monitors > Update driver > Browse to install the INF manually.

Question 2

Monitor not detected / shows “Generic PnP Monitor”?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the VGA/DVI cable, confirm the 170X4’s input source and power, then scan for hardware changes in Device Manager. Windows’ generic monitor driver may be sufficient, but Philips utilities may not work.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate monitor entries?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old Philips monitor drivers, remove hidden/duplicate monitor entries, reboot, then install the latest package. If resolution or color is wrong after updating, roll back the driver or set the 170X4 to its native 1280×1024 resolution.
