Author: Pharos

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Pharos GPS 360 installer as administrator, disconnect the USB GPS receiver during setup, and temporarily disable antivirus. Reconnect after installation; if needed, update the driver manually in Device Manager under Ports (COM & LPT).

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB port and cable, avoid unpowered hubs, and check Device Manager for an unknown device or new COM port. Confirm the GPS receiver has power, then reinstall the Pharos USB serial driver.

Question 3

Version or COM-port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old Pharos/GPS serial drivers and hidden devices, reboot, and let Windows assign a free COM port. Point your GPS software to that port and set the correct baud rate, usually 4800 or 9600.
