Question 1

BIOS flash fails or reports “ROM file mismatch”?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the board is a P17G and matches its revision. Extract the BIOS file from the archive and use the included DOS flash utility; run it from a bootable DOS USB/floppy, disable BIOS write protection, and do not interrupt power.

Question 2

Bootable USB/floppy not detected?

Accepted Answer

Legacy P17G BIOSes may not boot modern USB media. Enable Legacy USB Support, use a small FAT-formatted USB drive with USB-FDD emulation or a floppy, and try a PS/2 keyboard if USB input fails in the flash utility.

Question 3

Version conflict or unstable POST after update?

Accepted Answer

Do not flash an older BIOS over a newer one unless recovery is required. After flashing, clear CMOS, load Optimized Defaults, then recheck CPU/RAM settings.
