Author: Pantech

Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Pantech UML290 installer as Administrator in Windows compatibility mode, reboot, then reconnect the modem only after setup finishes. Remove any partial install from Programs and Features first.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a rear USB port directly on the PC, avoid hubs, and check Device Manager for an unknown USB modem. Reinstall the UML290 driver, then replug the device and let Windows finish enumeration.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Verizon/Pantech modem software and stale mobile broadband drivers in Device Manager, reboot, and install one UML290 driver package only. Avoid mixing vendor utilities with Windows’ built-in mobile broadband driver.
