Name: Orion StarShoot Autoguider Driver (Base) Driver
Author: Orion

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Orion installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and reboot before retrying. If Windows blocks the driver, use the signed release and avoid installing over an existing Orion driver.

Question 2

Autoguider not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the camera directly to a USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Try a known-good cable and check Device Manager for an unknown device. Reinstall the base driver, power-cycle the camera, then reopen PHD2/ASCOM.

Question 3

Version conflicts / PHD2 can't connect?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Orion StarShoot drivers and duplicate ASCOM camera entries, reboot, then install the current base driver before selecting “Orion StarShoot Autoguider” in PHD2. Match 32/64-bit apps and avoid running two capture programs at once.
