Name: Optiarc DVD RW AD 5690H ATA Device Driver
Author: Optiarc

Question 1

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA/IDE data and power cables, confirm BIOS sees the AD-5690H, and try another port. In Device Manager, show hidden devices, uninstall ghost optical-drive entries, then scan for hardware changes.

Question 2

Install fails or errors appear?

Accepted Answer

Windows normally uses its built-in CD/DVD driver, so avoid unrelated Optiarc/NEC packages. Run any exact-model installer as administrator and check Event Viewer for ATA/optical errors.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old burning software or virtual-drive tools, uninstall the device in Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows reinstall it. Update firmware only with the exact AD-5690H package.
