Name: Optiarc BD ROM BC 5500A ATA Device Driver
Author: Optiarc

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect other optical drives, confirm the SATA/ATA port mode is correct, and run the installer as administrator. Remove any old Optiarc/optical device entry in Device Manager, then rescan before retrying.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, try another port, and confirm the BC 5500A appears in BIOS/UEFI. If BIOS sees it but Windows does not, rescan Disc drives in Device Manager and check Disk Management for a drive letter.

Question 3

Version conflicts or drive errors?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall duplicate CD/DVD device entries, reboot, and let Windows load its native optical driver first. Then apply only the Optiarc BC 5500A firmware/driver package; do not mix packages for other Optiarc models.
