Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the OP-COM 1.99 installer as Administrator, use a direct USB 2.0 port instead of a hub, and temporarily disable Windows driver signature enforcement if the USB serial driver is blocked.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the vehicle ignition is on, check Device Manager for the assigned COM port, and select that same COM port in the OP-COM software. Try a different USB cable/port.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Keep OP-COM software and interface firmware matched to 1.99. Uninstall older OP-COM drivers/software, reboot, then reinstall; mixing newer firmware with 1.99 can cause connection or diagnostic errors.
