Name: Omega USB SERIAL CABLE Driver
Author: Omega

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Omega USB SERIAL CABLE installer as Administrator. If Windows blocks the driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then reinstall. Disconnect the cable during setup and reconnect after completion.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM port?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for “Unknown device” or entries under Ports (COM & LPT). Try a different USB port and cable, avoid unpowered hubs, then uninstall the device, reboot, and rescan for hardware.

Question 3

Version conflicts or wrong COM number?

Accepted Answer

Remove older USB-serial drivers and leftover COM-port assignments in Device Manager. Reinstall the latest Omega driver, then reassign the COM port if another device is using it.
