Question 1

Installer fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Run the Olympus DSS/device software installer as Administrator in Windows compatibility mode, temporarily disable antivirus, and reboot before retrying.

DS 330 not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a rear USB port and a known data cable, then check Device Manager for unknown USB devices. Confirm the recorder is powered on and set to the correct USB/transfer mode.

Uninstall older Olympus DSS Player/driver entries, reboot, and install only the latest compatible package. Disconnect other Olympus audio devices during installation to avoid Windows assigning the wrong driver.
