Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the i2800, run the Kodak/Alaris installer as administrator, and allow the legacy/unsigned driver prompt. Reboot before reconnecting USB.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm power and use a direct USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Power-cycle the scanner, check Device Manager for an unknown device, then reinstall the i2800 driver.

Question 3

Driver/TWAIN conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Kodak scanner drivers and previous TWAIN/ISIS/WIA packages, reboot, then install only the correct 32/64-bit i2800 package. Test with a simple scan app.
