Author: Kodak

Question 1

Install fails on newer Windows?

Accepted Answer

Kodak EasyShare M531 drivers are old; if setup exits with compatibility errors, run the installer as administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode, or use Windows’ built-in WPD/MTP camera support if the M531 is recognized.

Question 2

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Set the M531 to “PC” or “MTP” mode in its USB settings, use a known data-capable USB cable, connect directly to the PC (no hub), and check Device Manager for unknown devices. Try another USB 2.0 port.

Question 3

Version conflicts / duplicate software?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older EasyShare software and any existing Kodak camera driver, reboot, then install only the package for your Windows version. Disconnect the camera during setup and reconnect after installation.
