Question 1

Installer fails on newer Windows?

Accepted Answer

The C140 driver is old and may block on Windows 10/11. Run the Kodak installer as administrator in Windows XP/Vista compatibility mode, reboot, and temporarily disable driver signature enforcement if Windows rejects it.

Question 2

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the C140 is powered on and set to USB transfer mode, not PictBridge. Connect directly to a rear USB port with a known-good cable, avoid hubs, then check Device Manager for an unknown device and reconnect.

Question 3

Version conflicts with Windows’ built-in camera driver?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Kodak EasyShare software and any existing C140 driver first. Disconnect the camera, reboot, install the correct package, then reconnect. If Windows keeps using a generic WIA/MTP driver, update the driver manually in Device Manager.
