Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The Kodak 1400 uses a legacy dye-sub driver that Windows 10/11 may block. Run the installer as administrator, use Windows compatibility mode, and ensure the driver matches your Windows architecture.

Question 2

Printer not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the 1400 is powered on and connected directly via USB, not through a hub. Try another USB port, remove other USB printers, then restart the Print Spooler service.

Question 3

Version conflicts with old Kodak drivers?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any previous Kodak 1400 or Kodak Professional printer entries, delete leftover driver packages in Print Management, and remove stale print queues before reinstalling the correct version.
