Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Nokia USB/PC Suite driver installer as Administrator, and try Windows 7 compatibility mode. Disconnect the 808 PureView first, reboot, and temporarily disable antivirus. Old Symbian-era drivers may also be blocked on 64-bit Windows if unsigned.

Question 2

Phone not detected?

Accepted Answer

On the Nokia 808, choose Nokia Suite/PC Suite USB mode, not Mass storage. Use a data-capable micro-USB cable in a rear USB 2.0 port, avoid hubs, and check Device Manager for “Nokia USB Device” or an unknown device.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall Nokia Ovi Suite/PC Suite and older Nokia USB drivers first. In Device Manager, enable Show hidden devices and remove stale Nokia USB entries, then reinstall the matching driver package. Do not mix PC Suite and Ovi Suite drivers.
