Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Older Nokia 5800 XpressMusic drivers may fail on modern Windows due to compatibility or signing checks. Run the Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite installer as administrator in Windows XP/Vista compatibility mode, reboot, then connect the phone.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a known-good USB cable and port, set the phone’s USB mode to PC Suite, and install Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite before connecting. Check Device Manager for an unknown “Nokia USB” device or missing driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite and Nokia USB drivers, remove hidden devices in Device Manager, reboot, and install only one matching suite/driver version.
