Question 1

Install fails or Windows blocks the old Nokia driver?

Accepted Answer

Run the Nokia USB/PC Suite installer as administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode. On Windows 10/11, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement if the unsigned Nokia driver is rejected, then reinstall.

Question 2

Phone not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct rear USB port and a known data cable, not a charge-only cable. Set the Nokia 5130c 2 USB mode to PC Suite/Modem when prompted, and check Device Manager for “Unknown device” or Code 43 before reinstalling.

Question 3

Version conflicts with Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing Nokia PC Suite, Ovi Suite, and Nokia USB driver entries, reboot, then install one matching driver package only. Do not mix old and new Nokia connectivity drivers.
