Name: Nikon Coolpix S4300 Driver
Author: Nikon

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Nikon package as administrator, close Nikon Transfer/ViewNX and Windows Photos, and confirm the driver matches your Windows version. The Coolpix S4300 often works with Windows’ built-in camera/MTP driver, so avoid forcing an older or third-party driver.

Question 2

Camera not detected over USB?

Accepted Answer

Use a data-capable cable directly into a rear USB port, not a hub. Turn the S4300 on, set its USB mode to Mass Storage or PTP as needed, and check Device Manager for unknown devices. Try another cable/port.

Question 3

Version conflicts after updates?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old Nikon software, remove the camera entry in Device Manager, reboot, then reconnect and let Windows reinstall the built-in driver. Reinstall Nikon software only if required.
