Author: Kensington

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older KensingtonWorks/TrackballWorks first, reboot, then run the latest KensingtonWorks installer as administrator. Close other mouse utilities and retry; if setup still fails, remove any flagged HID device in Device Manager before reinstalling.

Question 2

Trackball not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the power switch is on and fit fresh batteries. Plug the USB receiver into a direct port, not a hub, and re-pair via the receiver/connect button if needed. Check Device Manager under Mice and other pointing devices.

Question 3

Version/software conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Don’t run TrackballWorks and KensingtonWorks together. Remove old Kensington packages, install only the Windows build for the Orbit Wireless Mobile Trackball, and reboot so button and scroll-ring settings apply cleanly.
