Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any previous Kensington/MouseWorks software, reboot, then run the downloaded installer as administrator. Temporarily disable third-party antivirus if it blocks the HID driver install.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB port directly on the PC, avoid hubs. In Device Manager, check under Human Interface Devices and Mice for the Expert Mouse Pro; remove any duplicate/hidden entries and rescan. Reconnect the trackball after Windows detects it.

Question 3

Version conflicts or buttons/scroll ring stop working?

Accepted Answer

Remove the old driver and Kensington software, reboot, and install the exact version for your Windows build from this page. Do not mix generic Windows mouse drivers with the Kensington package.
