Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The JMicron PCIe GbE package may be blocked by driver signing or Windows version mismatch. Run the installer as administrator, confirm the package matches your Windows edition/architecture, or use Device Manager > Update driver > Browse to the extracted INF manually.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager under “Other devices” for an unknown Ethernet controller. Reseat the PCIe adapter, try another PCIe slot, and verify the slot is enabled in BIOS/UEFI. If it still does not appear, the card or slot may be faulty.

Question 3

Version conflicts/yellow bang?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing generic or older JMicron Ethernet driver via Device Manager, select “Delete the driver software,” reboot, then install the current package. If a recent update broke connectivity, use Roll Back Driver.
