Name: JMicron JMC260 Driver
Author: JMicron

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Use a signed JMC260 driver package matching your Windows version and architecture, run the installer as administrator, and temporarily disable antivirus. If Windows blocks an unsigned driver, prefer a WHQL-signed release instead of disabling signature enforcement.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for an unknown Ethernet controller, reseat the PCIe card, and confirm the slot/BIOS settings. Verify the Hardware IDs include `PCIVEN_197B&DEV_0260` before installing.

Question 3

Version conflicts or dropped connections?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing JMicron/Microsoft generic Ethernet drivers via Device Manager with “Delete driver software,” reboot, then install the JMC260 package. If Windows Update replaces it, roll back or block automatic driver updates.
