Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Jablotron JA-80T driver installer as administrator, close alarm programming software, and reboot before retrying. If blocked, check SmartScreen/antivirus.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM port?

Accepted Answer

In Device Manager, check Ports (COM & LPT). If the JA-80T USB communicator shows a warning, uninstall it, reconnect directly to a rear USB port with a known data cable, and rescan. Avoid USB hubs.

Question 3

Version conflicts with older Jablotron software?

Accepted Answer

Remove previous Jablotron USB/serial drivers and ghost COM ports in Device Manager, reboot, then install the driver matching your Windows build and JA-80T firmware. Confirm the assigned COM port in your programming software.
