Name: JMicron JMB38X MS Host Controller Driver
Author: JMicron

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Use the JMicron JMB38X package matching your Windows version/architecture, and run it as administrator. Temporarily disable driver signature enforcement only if the package is unsigned. If setup still fails, update the “JMicron JMB38X MS Host Controller” manually in Device Manager via “Update driver” > “Browse.”

Question 2

Device or Memory Stick not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for unknown devices or error codes; remove the old driver, restart, and rescan hardware. Confirm the Memory Stick is seated in the correct slot—this controller handles MS/MS Pro, not SD.

Question 3

Version conflicts/blue screens?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous JMicron card-reader drivers and remove leftover entries before installing the new package. If Windows installed a generic driver, roll back or replace it with the JMB38X-specific driver.
