Name: Iomega Zip 250MB Parallel Port Driver
Author: Iomega

Question 1

Install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the parallel port is enabled as LPT1 in BIOS and set to bidirectional/EPP or ECP mode. Run the Iomega installer as administrator; on newer Windows, use compatibility mode or a supported older OS/VM.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use an IEEE-1284 parallel cable connected directly to the motherboard’s LPT port. Avoid USB-to-parallel adapters, which often lack the bidirectional legacy support the Zip 250 needs. Check Device Manager for the LPT port and try another EPP/ECP setting.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove older IomegaWare or Zip drivers and any duplicate LPT entries before installing one matching driver version. Don’t stack Iomega tools with Windows’ generic parallel-port driver.
