Name: IRiver X20 Driver
Author: iRiver

Question 1

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a data-capable USB cable and a rear motherboard port, not a hub. On the X20, switch between MTP and USB Mass Storage modes if your firmware offers both; Windows needs the matching inbox driver.

Question 2

Install fails?

Accepted Answer

Legacy iRiver Manager/Plus installers often fail on Windows 10/11. Run as administrator and use XP SP3 compatibility mode; if it still fails, skip it and access the player via Explorer or Windows Media Player.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old iRiver drivers/software and remove hidden USB devices in Device Manager, then reconnect. Prefer Windows’ built-in MTP/Mass Storage driver over downloaded third-party packages.
