Author: iRiver

Question 1

Driver install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

The IFP-800 driver package is old and may be blocked on Windows 10/11. Run setup as administrator in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. If it still fails, use Device Manager > Update driver > Browse to the extracted driver folder; allow unsigned drivers only if the package is from a trusted source.

Question 2

Player not detected?

Accepted Answer

Set the IFP-800’s USB mode to “Removable Disk” (or the mode required by iRiver Manager), use a known data cable and a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Reconnect, then scan for hardware changes in Device Manager.

Question 3

Driver/software version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older iRiver Manager/driver entries, including hidden devices, reboot, then install the matching IFP-800 driver/software. Don’t mix a generic USB mass-storage driver with iRiver Manager mode.
