Name: Ingenico iWL250 iWL220 (COM8) Driver
Author: Ingenico

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Ingenico driver package as administrator and use the signed Windows-compatible release. If Setup blocks on Windows 10/11, try compatibility mode, reboot, then reconnect the iWL250/iWL220.

Question 2

Device not detected/COM8 missing?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the terminal is in the correct USB/serial mode and use the approved cable. In Device Manager > Ports (COM & LPT), check for the Ingenico port. If COM8 is absent, update the driver manually to the extracted INF and reassign COM8 if another device owns it.

Question 3

Version/COM port conflict?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Ingenico or USB-serial drivers, delete the driver in Device Manager, remove hidden devices, reboot, and install only the current package. Close POS software that may lock COM8.
