Name: Icom RS BA1 Driver
Author: Icom

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the installer as administrator, disconnect the Icom radio/USB cable until prompted, and temporarily disable antivirus. If an older Icom USB driver exists, remove it in Device Manager (enable “Show hidden devices”), reboot, then reinstall.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM port?

Accepted Answer

Try a known-good USB cable and direct port. Check Device Manager under Ports for an Icom or CP210x device. Reinstall the driver and confirm the radio is in the correct remote/CI-V mode. For RS-BA1 network use, allow it through Windows Firewall and verify IP/port settings.

Question 3

Version conflicts / port cannot open?

Accepted Answer

Match RS-BA1 to your radio and Windows version. Uninstall older Icom USB/RS-BA1 components, reboot, install the current driver before RS-BA1, close other COM-port software, and select the correct COM port in RS-BA1.
