Author: IBM

Question 1

Installer fails on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

T43 IBM driver packages target Windows XP/2000. Run setup in Windows XP compatibility mode as administrator, or extract the package and update manually via Device Manager → “Have Disk.”

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check BIOS for disabled Ethernet/wireless/Bluetooth, confirm the exact T43 model/FRU—wireless and GPU variants differ—then rescan hardware and install the matching subsystem driver, not a generic one.

Question 3

Version conflicts/rollbacks?

Accepted Answer

Windows Update or newer Lenovo packages can overwrite IBM drivers and break hotkeys/power management. Create a restore point, uninstall the conflicting driver, reinstall the IBM T43 package, and block automatic driver updates if needed.
