Name: IBM ThinkPad T42 (2373K9G) Driver
Author: IBM

Question 1

Install fails on newer Windows?

Accepted Answer

T42 drivers are built for Windows 2000/XP. Run Setup in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP and as administrator; if unsigned-driver blocking appears, use the XP-era installer or temporarily disable driver signature enforcement.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check BIOS that the relevant subsystem is enabled—wireless/Bluetooth, modem, or infrared—then use Device Manager > Action > Scan for hardware changes. For PCMCIA/CardBus cards, confirm the slot and card are seated and powered.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove the existing IBM/Lenovo driver and reboot before installing the package for 2373K9G. Avoid mixing ThinkPad Software Installer, System Update, and manual INF installs; match the driver version to the exact model and Windows build.
